Friday Favs - With a Wink and a Smile

I thought I’d start a new series…..Friday Favs. The plan is to share with you (weekly) what we are really loving! It may be a thing or a place, or even a person. I’d love for you to comment with some of your favorite things. Maybe you’ll see them show up in our favorite things soon!

A New Way to COFFEE

Our coffee maker bit the dust last week……let’s all have a moment of silence. STOP! Good riddance! We went back to a coffee pot when our Keurig died thinking we were making a little “healthier” choice. I’m not sure that was the case….a coffee maker is just as bad of a breeding ground for mold in that reservoir. Ewwww! Seriously, it’s gross!

So, we went with a new option and we are LOVING it! Have you heard of a chemex? I hadn’t either until one of Creg’s coworkers introduced it to their office. No joke, I totally laughed when creg told me about it. Grown men making coffee into an art form. LOL It was really more in the way he told me about it. He was like a little kid so excited about his “new” coffee!

So we bought an electric kettle (I spent $10 extra for a gold one because I’m a little extra). It’s amazing! Hot water super fast without the microwave (cuz that’s bad, too, ya know)!! Great for coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc…

You’ll also need a Chemex. Or another glass, pour over type pot. There’s a bit of an art form to “pouring” the water over the grounds…..Creg says it has to “bloom” ….. I’ll be completely honest with you, the coffee that I loved and was the best tasting coffee ever is now…..EVEN BETTER!!!!

If you follow me at all, you know I LOVE the cleaning products we use in our home. Nontoxic AND effective!!! WINNING!!! Soooo…. a little paint accident this week didn’t scare me one bit! Not sure how I survived before these products came into my life!
