I’m so excited to be heading to Faith Church this weekend for Women’s Conference! The conference is a collaborative effort between Faith Church, I am Woman TV, and DayStar. Creg was given the opportunity to serve this week. He’s been working hard to help make this year’s conference amazing! I can’t wait to join him and see the incredible work God is doing!
Be~You~Tiful
This year’s conference theme is Be~You~Tiful. I love the spin on the spelling. I’m hoping it lives up to my expectations…..who am I kidding….I’ve seen some rehearsal footage……EPIC!!!! I’ll be posting to my Instagram Story if you want to follow along with some of the highlights!
I have to say, when I heard the theme and that Creg would be serving, it hit me pretty hard with “the feels”. It was almost like, “Hello! Are you listening? You are supposed to hear this message!” I have a special place in my heart for the word Beautiful (I even had it tattooed in my handwriting on my ribs). My mom likes to remind me (just today even) that my tattoo is one of her “favorite” things about me…..do you hear that sarcasm????? In all honesty, it IS one of my favorite things about me. I don’t regret it one bit! It’s supposed to be a constant reminder to me that everything and everyone is beautiful in His eyes. Even with it branded on my body, I still struggle, at times.
There’s a lot of personal history (even to childhood) that I’ll spare you all the details of, but I’ve always struggled with feeling adequate, worthy, valued, etc… Growing up, there was a song that I sang as a solo in church called “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful”…
Be your own kind of beautiful
The best that you can be
Smile your own kind of smile
Find your own identity
For Heaven’s light with shine through you in very special ways
Just being you is sure to make the world a better place.
Life happens and we still seem to forget that we are always beautiful in His eyes. I struggled through childhood never feeling good enough and a marriage always feeling less. It actually took going through a divorce for me to do enough personal and spiritual growth to FINALLY get it! So, I wrote the word down and had it permanently imprinted on my body. A constant reminder that even though the world is (and I am) full of brokenness, He makes all things new! He makes beauty from the ashes! Sure, I have lots of broken pieces, but if He sees the beauty, so should I!
I love that quote! If God can see the beauty deep down in my soul, it must be there!
Stay Tuned…
I’m on the edge of my seat for conference tonight! I have a feeling it’s going to speak right to me. Oh, and I’m ready to hug my husband. We miss him…..A LOT!
I’ll be sure to update you all after conference and make sure to follow along on my instagram stories!!!!!
